The Costco Pizza Dilemma

So I went to Costco today simply for the sake of satisfying my hunger (and for some quick window shopping at the electronics side).

I ordered a slice of pepperoni pizza, a polish sausage + drink and sat down.

I began to think about what I hear from everyone. "Costco pizza is so good!"

I hate to break it to most of them but I don't think a Costco pizza is a quality pizza at all.

So this leaves me with the question.

Is Costco pizza good? Or is it just good for the price it is offered?

Now the more obvious answer is, yes a Costco pizza is good but I have had better elsewhere but the price takes the cake, er..slice.

Many may disagree with my analysis but I think the best way to analyze this is to look at the qualities of this pizza.

Cheap - At $1.99 a slice. Compare it to most other pizza places, this is a steal.
Big slices - For what you pay for, the size is double what you get at any other pizza place.
Taste - It's a pizza, it tastes like a pizza. Standard
Quality Compared - Decent dough layer, light spread of sauce, thin layer of cheese, fair amount of topings.

From a quality point of view, yes a Costco pizza is a hastely + cheaply made pizza that satisfies the bare minimum of a pizza craving.

For 4$ at some lesser known pizza parlors that serve oven fresh pizza that is made with more richer toppings, the layers are thicker but you get more taste.

Personally, I think Costco pizza is only good because it is cheap. Anyone with a good taste for pizza knows a Costco pizza is not good at all compared to what other places offer.

But in a time of economic uncertainty (we've all heard this one before), if you just want satisfaction from the bare minimum...Costco pizza is the way to go. (and the fact that I only had 3$ in my wallet today). If not, check out the better alternatives out there.

Merry Christmas!

It's that special time of the year AGAIN!

You know for Christmas in San Francisco, it was pretty damn bright out today.

So I celebrated Christmas by having lunch with my mom and dad at an ABC cafe.

Surprisingly at the cafe, I spotted my grandaunt and I guess you can say a distant uncle and aunt and their kids enjoying lunch so I crashed their table to say hi and wish them a merry Christmas...they paid for our food without us knowing again and their kid said my face got older...good to know I'm not fat =]

So I guess this week has been an interesting week so to speak. I've learned a lot from others and understood more about girls than I have ever had from a usual chat.

I look back at 2008 as a year where I struggled with keeping a relationship and struggled to get used to single life again.

2009 is a totally different story and is not even the opposite. It was a very neutral year. I didn't concentrate on having a relationship and simply worked and concentrated (to an extent) on school.

It is in these final weeks of 2009 that this whole girls and relationships thing that I've ignored for a long time is starting to catch up to me. In no way shape or form am I in love right now and in no way shape or form am I certain it'll happen anytime soon.

But there's always 2010 and...oh wait I am in love at the moment. Lime Popsicles are AWESOME!

Vitasoy

Because of my failure to find a decent image of a box of Vitasoy. I have decided..well, pressured by Nelson to just take an original picture of it.

Anyways, I had endured a long and painful week of a cankor sore that had to be strategically placed on my left tonsil.

To remedy this, I turned to 2 solutions to numb the pain.

Congee and Vitasoy.

Must be the ingredients but I'll take Vitasoy over that Costco Kirkland Soy Milk stuff anyday.

Moon Festivities

Well, it's the moon festival and I just finished half a mooncake.

Its sad, I feel that its not as big of a deal as it was the other years but then again, not everyone is as festive after what our economy has gone through.

So in regards to the picture I put next to this, I was taking the bus home tonight when I saw how bright and detailed the moon was. I also happened to notice fabled "Rabbit on the Moon" outline.

To make a long story short, the rabbit is making an immortality elixir for the Emperor of Qin China.

Orange Juice

Yes, my lack of creativity or daily activity has lead me to this.

Behold, I'm blogging about Orange Juice.

Ok, after I finish this post, I'm heading straight to the fridge and grabbing some.

My favorite orange juice is not from concentrate and best if it had pulp and really cold.

I actually prefer the carton ones over fresh squeezed.

Took one trip to Jamba Juice and ordered a 3$ 16 oz cup of fresh OJ...terrible.

I should've stopped at Walgreens during my break and bought a fresh carton.

20 Years Young

On August 24, 1989, I was born.
On August 24, 2009, I was caked

Good job guys. I still smell cake in my system =D

So today was pretty cool. Didn't expect a big bash or anything. Just a simple lunch with my close friends. Then dinner with the family.

What I hope for in my 20th year on Earth is stability and serenity.

School starts tomorrow, one chapter closes and another one begins.

Last Day of the 19th Year

I guess today summed up and made me think about life at the age of 19.

Last night I hosted a Birthday Movie Night that went smooth with a bit of turbulence and then crashed and burned when my parents pulled the plug on it.

Ticked me off that as I approach the age of 20, my parents still have so much authority on my life and I guess I made it clear today that I want control of my life when I stormed out of the house and drove out.

Personally, I think its been a year of more downs than ups. So much has happened since my last
birthday both academically and socially.

Pretty explicit stuff here. I found love again for a while but things didn't work out well and I ended up finding out more about myself and my preferences.

I learned that I can be ambitious but lack the resources and connections to fulfill any of my ambitions.

So I'm concluding my 19th year and entering my 20th year, by trying out a large cup of Seattle's Best Coffee, er..Mocha, whatever. It's pretty good stuff.

Baked Goods

This all began one day when I ordered a baked spaghetti over at ABC Cafe in Sunset.

My dad was talking to me about how easy it should be to simply make this spaghetti. I listened.

A month later; or 2 days ago, I grabbed a recipe online and bought the ingredients I needed.

It consisted of:

- A 4 cup bag of grated mozzarella cheese
- A 1.5 bag of grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 bag of spaghetti
- 1 jar of spaghetti sauce
- 1 pound of ground beef
- 2 eggs
- 4 tablespoons of butter
- 1 medium onion

That picture is the end result. It could've been a tad bit saltier but overall, I give it a B-

Trader Joe's Honey Roasted Peanuts

Ok, there is going to be one more blog after this about food but that one is worth while because it's me cooking.

Anyways, after yesterday's "incident" at Starbucks, Dylan and I went down to Trader Joe's at North Beach and browsed around.

I had been wanting to buy these for a long time; Trader Joe's Honey Roasted Peanuts. They are the absolute best peanuts EVER. Period

I Like Starbucks

I know Starbucks usually gets a bad rep for repetitive variety in their menus and also because there is seemingly one in every corner but despite that, it's a pretty nice company.

Last night, the guys and I stopped by this Starbucks that is open 24 hours a day over at the Laurel Village and it was a pretty chill atmosphere (aside from a group of rude chess playing smokers).

Anyways, I can't think of too many places that provide seating, wi-fi, or simply somewhere to relax. Last year I would always go to this local coffee shop near my house but the atmosphere wasn't as pleasant compared to most Starbucks I go to.

And yes, I had a Macbook on me like everyone else there.
