The first week of school has concluded. I am officially a 15 unit full-time student.
A tough first week that left me with 2 waitlisted classes.
Fortunately for me, I just got my add codes today and I'm officially enrolled.
Here's the verdict on my courses:
ANTH 481 - Archaeology of the Far East: Very nice teacher and very informative.
DS 212 - Business Statistics I: Helpful teacher, not-to-enthusiastic class.
GEOG 575 - Emerging China: Interesting teacher who knows his profession and teaches it well.
HIST 569 - Ancient Chinese Civilization: Enthusiastic teacher but seemingly unorganized.
ISYS 263 - Introduction to Information Systems: Online course, no comment.

On August 24, 1989, I was born.

Good job guys. I still smell cake in my system =D
So today was pretty cool. Didn't expect a big bash or anything. Just a simple lunch with my close friends. Then dinner with the family.
What I hope for in my 20th year on Earth is stability and serenity.

Last Day of the 19th Year

I guess today summed up and made me think about life at the age of 19.
Last night I hosted a Birthday Movie Night that went smooth with a bit of turbulence and then crashed and burned when my parents pulled the plug on it.
Ticked me off that as I approach the age of 20, my parents still have so much authority on my life and I guess I made it clear today that I want control of my life when I stormed out of the house and drove out.
Personally, I think its been a year of more downs than ups. So much has happened since my last

birthday both academically and socially.
Pretty explicit stuff here. I found love again for a while but things didn't work out well and I ended up finding out more about myself and my preferences.
I learned that I can be ambitious but lack the resources and connections to fulfill any of my ambitions.
So I'm concluding my 19th year and entering my 20th year, by trying out a large cup of Seattle's Best Coffee, er..Mocha, whatever. It's pretty good stuff.
Anorexic Playstation 3
I figure I have a few minutes before heading off to work to make a blog.
Yesterday, Sony announced the confirmation of the Playstation 3 Slim.
As the owner of its obscenely obese brother, the original Playstation 3 (mildly retarded due to the lack of backwards compatibility), I just gotta say one simple thing.
...I want it.
Maybe I'll get it through a trade-in if the price was right.

Rainy Days
No, this is not an emo post.
After one moderate summer and an even more unusual "Indian summer" that hasn't seemed to really kick in yet, I'm wishing more rain again.
Living in SF, it feels like every year passes with less rain. I remember those storms that happen once and a while but that hasn't happened at all these past few years.
Let's face it, I love rain. It's a love-hate relationship that I can endure.
I always used to think I was a summer person but let's face it, I'm a winter person. Everything about it is welcoming to me.
The sights, daylight savings, and night time are some of the best.
Some of my best memories happened in the rain.
I can't wait until winter.

Ridiculously Cute
No joke
I was inside that Rainbow Station store a few months ago and I came across this little hamster plush and the first thing that came to mind was "This thing is ridiculously cute".
Looked at the price tag and contemplated on buying it.
My cousin gave birth to a baby girl (congradulations by the way) and I wanted to get this hamster for her. To my bad luck, it was no longer there. So I opted for a substitute present.
So the group and I went to Japantown yesterday for some kind of festivity. We walked into this store and I saw it again and it was cheaper.
Screw it, I bought it and gave it to my dad. FREAKIN' CUTE.

Baked Goods
This all began one day when I ordered a baked spaghetti over at ABC Cafe in Sunset.
My dad was talking to me about how easy it should be to simply make this spaghetti. I listened.
A month later; or 2 days ago, I grabbed a recipe online and bought the ingredients I needed.
It consisted of:
- A 4 cup bag of grated mozzarella cheese
- A 1.5 bag of grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 bag of spaghetti
- 1 jar of spaghetti sauce
- 1 pound of ground beef
- 2 eggs
- 4 tablespoons of butter
- 1 medium onion
That picture is the end result. It could've been a tad bit saltier but overall, I give it a B-

Ok, there is going to be one more blog after this about food but that one is worth while because it's me cooking.
Anyways, after yesterday's "incident" at Starbucks, Dylan and I went down to Trader Joe's at North Beach and browsed around.
I had been wanting to buy these for a long time; Trader Joe's Honey Roasted Peanuts. They are the absolute best peanuts EVER. Period

Good Ol' Windows Media Player
I Like Starbucks
I know Starbucks usually gets a bad rep for repetitive variety in their menus and also because there is seemingly one in every corner but despite that, it's a pretty nice company.
Last night, the guys and I stopped by this Starbucks that is open 24 hours a day over at the Laurel Village and it was a pretty chill atmosphere (aside from a group of rude chess playing smokers).
Anyways, I can't think of too many places that provide seating, wi-fi, or simply somewhere to relax. Last year I would always go to this local coffee shop near my house but the atmosphere wasn't as pleasant compared to most Starbucks I go to.
And yes, I had a Macbook on me like everyone else there.

While I'm Still Young...
So I was looking through my last few blog posts and they weren't happy ones. I know.
I think it's better to tell myself that at this point in my life, if I was ever disappointed with how things are going; I'm not hurting anyone except myself.
Anyways, I figured it might be fun to make a list of things I would like to do while I'm still young. (When I mean still young, I mean still in college without a degree; still have 2 years)
1. Drive a motorcycle
2. Draw something artistic
3. Sing a Chinese song without making a single word error
4. Go on a cruise
5. Find a new hairstyle
6. Have a casual conversation with a girl at a quiet cafe
7. Build something out of nothing
8. Take a really good picture of myself, like something very epic
9. Take a family portrait picture
10. Bake some chicken casseroles
11. Dye my hair dark brown (really dark brown)
12. Appear on a game show
13. Attend an opera
14. Have more money than I've ever had so far
15. Finally attend a wedding dressed properly
It's a silly list but I wanted to list things that are do-able and not too far-fetched.
